Embark on your life together in this quaint romantic setting with historical value. The Dutch Reformed Church in Gordon’s Bay is not only attractive, but the location and layout has become a landmark in our town.
The building itself, a national monument, is more than a hundred years old and was originally utilised as school and church hall in 1887. The Milkwood Tree in front of the church, apart from its age, is a protected species and its generic name means “Iron-wood” in Greek, referring to its very hard timber.
The Church has a magnificent view over Gordon’s Bay and the False Bay with the sea being framed by a backdrop of exquisite mountains. The best view in the country! This is most certainly one of the most popular wedding venues in the area and couples come from far to say “I do” in this idyllic setting. Have your wedding photographs taken on the beach in front of the Church or even the Milkwood ‘Forrest’ just a few meters further.
